I've heard some good things about Athens and am finally planning on a trip out there Sunday. Is there anything I need to know before heading out? What to expect? Also, if you'd like to give me some tips it'd be much appreciated as well. Thanks in advance and all comments and PM's are welcome bannana2

Watch for gators.

I like to throw either a weightless fluke and fish it slow, or fish deeper grass lines with a belly weight fluke or senko.
C-rig has done me well lately there.
If you get bored go chase some schoolers. They're everywhere, sometimes they are easy to catch, couple days ago I couldn't get but a few bites, I like to throw a Sexy Dawg at them or burn a white weightless fluke over them.

Flukes, flukes, and senkos! You can find schoolers by the dam almost all day long. Keep your trolling motor on high and keep moving. They also school around the first two main lake points to the right past the pump station. If you can graph brush piles throw a jig at them. Pumpkin or watermelon candy is my main color of choice. You will find fish just keep moving till you do.
