I've tried fishing there a few times and have had no luck. I fish around big lake park mostly but I could go further. I fish for lmb and any tips on catching them would be very appreciated.

What bait did you try to use ? I haven't had much luck their either. I mostly tried spinner baits. I haven't used any live bait tho. Have you ? I think they might work.

Gotta catch em' all.
I love to fish!

No live bait I've used senkos, trick worms, ringfry, and some hyper sticks. Everyone I have talked to there is using live bait but I never see anyone catch anything. There's some big carp in there I've seen them and lots of brim.

You fishing the actual creek? Or Big Lake pond? They drained big Lake last year or the year before to do some construction around there. They drained it but not completely but it looked awful when it was low. I fished it once back in 2013. I caught some small bass nothing big. Did see a guy catch a nice 3lb bass from Big Lake that day. I saw some huge carp in there as well.

Caught the few bass when I was there on senko style worms in watermelon and red flake. They were all right up against the bank. Used to be some big concrete slabs along the bank on the west side like for water runoff into the pond and the bass were under those. I dropped the worm down next to them and they hit it.

Try out a black buzz bait at dusk. Slow retrieve and throw somewhat parallel to the shore.

If you fish during the day try a baby 1 minus also with a slow retrieve. It's a shallow dive crank bait the stays less than a foot under the surface.

Big Lake itself. The creek is pretty small and is hard to get to if I remember. I never fished the creek. I just wasn't sure if by the title of the post if you were fishing Spring Creek some where. There are places on Spring Creek in other parts of Plano that can be fished though.
