We've got a house rented for a long weekend on LBJ with family August 5th and I've never bass fished or any fishing on this lake, any info would be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you

My history there has been to find grass. Plenty of docks to flip, as well. Might try wacky rigged senkos, and other finesse tactics

There are those who love to catch fish, and those who will fish for the chance to catch.

I second Chad's recommendation. It's actually a pretty good fishing lake. However, If you want a real chance at a giant Bass hit lake Austin at night. DANG,that's fun right there.

Grab a few dozen minnows, small circle hooks, and corks. Fish the underwater lights at night. Look for them in 6ft of water or more. You'll catch em till your arms get tired!
