Just your navigation lights and something that you can use to tie knots in the boat like the clip on light for ball cap brims. No lights in the water from boat. You can use the lights around docks, just fish the darkness around the light

I have been wondering the same things. I have heard people say don't use any lights just let your eyes adjust. I have heard people say they use the big lights you wear on top of your hat like I have seen with frog giggin. I have tried the letting your eyes adjusting and it works ok for me, but doesn't make the fishing very enjoyable.

Never used lights bass fishing. Just the lights on the boat to be legal. Too much light tends to cause more problems with night blindness for me. The darker the better. Quieter the better too.

I use only the minimum called for by the law. The rear running light. I turn off any depth finders not being used and turn the one on the front deck to as low as possible and still see what I am looking for. I wear a pin on light on my hat and keep a flashlight in the glove box. I find I become more in tune with what is going on with my bait. It seems my sensitivity improves in the dark.

I agree with the above and don't shine your bright headlamp or spotlight in the water where you plan on fishing. I have never caught fish after someone has done that. We are fishing Fork Friday night and will report back.
Good luck
The day after catching a lot of fish is still a good day.

Light are for the fisherman not the fish.. The Darker the better.. Also get ready when the moon hits the horizon.. the Bite will be on when that happens no matter what time it is..

We fished F night from dark to 6am landing only 5. It was a tough night but, at 1am had a huge fish on that took 10 yards of drag so I pulled back as hard as I could to keep her out of some brush and she wouldn't turn, I was using my smallest night rod with brand new 15 Invisx with a smaller spinnerbait and she snapped the line. I have caught a lot of big fish at night and this fish was huge. One hour later I hook another big fish and after a long 3 jump fight I got her 2' from my buddy hand and the hook popped out we had 2 headlamps on her and she looked 8+ easy.......IT WAS A LONG DRIVE HOME.
The day after catching a lot of fish is still a good day.

.....Also get ready when the moon hits the horizon.. the Bite will be on when that happens no matter what time it is.. When the moon crosses our horizon the fish bite? Any certain phase it has to be in or just any? How do they know when it's crossing the horizon and is this for daytime too or just night fishing? I need all of the nuggets I can get!

Night fishing has been a little slow for me lately. I've been doing a few fork trips but only getting a few bites (or none). Nothing of any size. Not sure what happened to the bite
