On cold start have recurring tap, tap, tap, tap, tap from engine. Dissipates quickly. Relatively new occurrence. Engine otherwise seems to be running good. When hot oil temp around 175 degrees. Oil pressure low 50's PSI in normal city conditions. Water temp normal. Oil levels normal.

Is this symptomatic of stuck lifter? Or, another issue perhaps?

If lifter issue, is there risk of further damaging engine?

Will highway driving cause catastrophic failure?

I know it's difficult to answer without hearing noise or hooking up diagnostics, but appreciate opinions nonetheless.

Thanks.
Lance

Make sure oil filter has anti back flow valve to keep oil in engine.

My 2012 and 2014 do the same thing on occasion it's hard to tell if it's a lifter or injector they told me no worries. The anti drain valve is definitely a good idea. I use Mopar oil filters and it still does it.

Yep. Bad lifter bores caused a similar symptom on my 300C. It will likely start to cause an irronious cylinder miss fire code. Then the dealer will fix it.
