When I say
HOT, I'm referring to the fishing on Fork
Sunday evening, I asked Belinda if she wanted to slip out in the am.
She said "I don't think so"
I got out early and once I got to the area I wanted to fish, spot I haven't fished lately,
dropped a jig and
THUMP! Although it was overcast and quite comfortable, the fish were a couple of feet deeper than they had been.
I'm thinking that the warmer surface temp was the reason why, it was 93.5 in the early am.
I caught quite a few keepers, wasn't keeping any, then I got a solid thump and line slipped out when I set the hook
BFOD
Shortly afterwards, 7:10 to be exact, my phone rings....It's Belinda........
"Why didn't you wake me up!!!!"
Thought you didn't want to go I replied......"I didn't say NO!!!!"
I quickly made plans to pick her up at the ramp
We fished areas that we haven't fished lately and caught fish everywhere we stopped but 1
Belinda did catch some nice fish, but she wouldn't let me take her picture, saying she was waiting for BFOD......
No pictures of Belinda this trip - LOL
We fished brushpiles and standing timber in 22-26 fow, easily caught 30+ keepers & headed to the ramp at noon
The fishing here on lake Fork is outstanding right now....Gas up your truck, boat, grab a wide breamed hat, some sunscreen and plenty of H20
All fish again were caught on the Lime Glo-treuse Tadpole on a Chart 1/24 #4 jig head
Good luck everyone
This is by far my favorite time to fish...The Dog Days of Summer... we didn't get much of it last year, wind blew constantly
I've got to lay low for a bit and recoup so I get back out there
