There were 108 teams out there on Lake Fork this weekend. Weigh in was at Oak Ridge Marina. It was a 2 day tourney with a couple get meetings in the evenings that were well run and put together nicely. The crew that put this together and their Volunteers (ETBU ) Did an incredible job of making sure everything went smoothly.

I was honored to be the boat Captain to the Current THSBA State Champions Will Hughes and Carter Henderson. They proved yet again that they deserve to be at the top. They both worked very hard Saturday and Sunday and were able to bring in a 2 day total of 22.88 pounds to win the Tourney with a Big Bass of 10.04. It was impressive to watch this team go to work and pick each area apart to find the right fish. They kept me busy netting and culling the fish HA..

This was a very well run tourney and care was taken to make the weigh in process quick and easy on the fish during these hot days. I know that all the fish we caught and weighed in were very well taken care of from start to finish.

I know this is a yearly tourney and hopefully will continue to grow.

Great job by all 3 of you. Congrats to yall for both tourneys.

My boys had small limits on both days with enough slot fish mixed in to keep it interesting. They had one Sunday that was just short of being an over.

Finding out Friday that we had to be in by 130 had me frowning. However, at 12:15 on Saturday, I thought that it was the greatest idea ever.

That 10.04 is a donkey.

I agree, I thought we were going to have another 3pm on Saturday and 12 on Sunday like last year. I think the 12 and 1 weigh in for both days really helped out on keeping the fish nice and healthy. I heard nothing but good stories out there on Saturday evening after the first day fishing at the Dinner / Door Prize night and the DJ they had did a good job of keeping everyone smiling. It was really a well put together affair. It was fun watching the pitching contest also, we have some up and coming Fishing Stars in the mix out there.

Very nice meeting you Jody. Much deserved win by you and the boys on your team. Those overs go a long way, but you guys proved you could catch the unders too.

I will share our story/experience later. My team finished as the bridesmaids for the second year in a row. I think we finished 2nd last year because of how we fished. This year we were just plain beat by a team that fished better. Hats off to Whitehouse for their win.

In all seriousness, I'm very proud of the kids; they've racked up over $10K in scholarships and prizes the last two years. One of them graduated and he wants to go to trade school. He paid the entire amount and even has some $$$$ left over from his portion of the scholarships awarded at this tournament.

Second day bag for Crandall High School. LONG write-up posted on my Facebook Page. These kids pulled an Ike on me and waited until the final minutes to catch their over. For the second year in a row, they caught an over on Day Two and finished in 2nd overall. Unlike last year, however, they carried limits to the scales both days. It was a very humbling experience to watch them exemplify what it means to be a team and never give up.

great job alex for 2nd year in a row. glad to see all the high school kids get into this early on and looks like all the kids had fun catching or not.
