I'm launching at Cassell Boykin in the morning. I've never been on the north end of rayburn and have never launched here before. Anything I need to watch out for in the water or at the ramp? Anybody willing to share a bite report? Not looking for secret spots. Just a general north end report.

Be careful up on that end. I would highly suggest you buy boat lanes especially if you go North from there. Navionics is not very accurate up there from my experience. If you go South I would not run thru black or amber forest with the lake close to normal pool. Just my 2 cents. I have not been in a couple of weeks but it seemed the bigger girls are still holding shallow. Lots of fish to be caught out deep in the 2 to 3 lb range. If you go shallow focus on the hay grass (no secret there). Try frogs around the grass and TX rig in and around the grass. Be safe and have fun.

Darn. We found no fish up pophers and did no good shallow. Hung 5 in 18-24 ft water. Had perch hitting plastic worms that deep also.

Tough, slow fishing.

Recommend you stay south of the 147 Bridge if you are not familiar up in the Timber going north.

This plus south of the bridge is the black and amber forest and you need to know the run between or behind them. There's still plenty of fishing up there, just idle when you feel any doubt and don't just follow the first person you see. There are lots of people that run all in the trees and don't know till it's to late.

The Canyons is right across from Cassels, lots to fish there. But like others said target the hay grass.
