Those big gals just seem to know how to get away. I've lost many more than I've landed. If that is you in your avatar you look pretty young. When I was your age I was chasing them big bass too and getting my butt kicked time and time again by big ones. Just keep at it and you will start winning more of them battles. The one thing I changed that helped me land more big ones was the size of my hook. When I increased the size and went to a wide gap I started landing them more regularly. Look at the distance between the barb and bottom of the hook. Is there enough room there to accept the jaw bone of a big bass? They have thick jaw bones. I've landed 6 DD bass but I have had dozens on that got away. Just stay with it and keep on fishing! It won't be long before 5-6 pounders will be common for you.

Lost what would still be my personal best about 2 years ago and I'm still not okay to this dAy. I've been fishing the same area since then...I beat the area for hours every trip. You can catch another 5-6 , I don't know of I lost a 10 but it was close . I fought the fish , got it to the dock , bent over to pull her out , line snapped , fish went bye bye and everyone at the marina found out I can thoroughly use cuss words in different variations

I lost my PB fishing with Kelly Jordan on Camelot Belle... fish was every bit of 15 lbs, I had one just over 11 lbs earlier and this sucker made that fish look small. I had the fish hooked up for about a minute before it just came unbuttoned, the rest of the day Kelly Jordan razzed me for losing that fish. LOL It was all in good fun, dont want yall thinking KJ was being mean or anything. Just imagine seeing a 15 lb bass eat your bait, getting it to the boat, losing it, then getting razzed by one of the best Bass Pros on the planet the rest of the day. It makes any other fish I've lost since seem pretty insignificant.
