Fishing and the weather is hot at Lewisville right now. All those big fat Black Crappie that we thought were gone are back. Lots of dinks too.

Friday I fished with Rudy and had a fun day. Caught a lot of fish of all kinds. Kept 19 fat ladies.

Saturday Guy and I fished, a bit windier and fishing was slower but I believe we just fished the wrong areas. Still had several big fish. Filleted 8 for dinner, released the rest.

Sunday fished with Rick and had the best day in a long time. Didn't count the totals but kept 23 of the big ones. (1.5 to 2#) For real, not lying.

Best bet for big fish now is use your graph to find submerged standing timber in 20'-30' water and fish vertically with small baits with 1/8 or 1/4 oz jigs. Shad colors with glitter worked best. Bite is extremely light.

Once again I can't say enough about the Xi5 trolling motor. With the boat essentially anchored over the trees we were able to see and feel bites we would miss if the boat was moving around.

Sandbass and Hybrids were schooling all over the place and most boats we saw were catching a lot.

Got hot around noon and came in.

Nice report Mr Ernest.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

Yeah Wes said he ran in to you the other day on Lewisville. Those submerged trees have been holding some nice fish...just need them to stay there for the CAT Championship. We added a few more of those trees to the waypoint list.

Ernest,

Thanks for the tips.

I finally got on em and managed about 15 keepers on jigs and minnows. Color didn't seem to matter. Plus I caught a ton of small ones. With the lake continually dropping, them trees won't be submerged for much longer. I also saw some signs of pleasure boaters hitting them with branches broke off just below the surface. As the lake continues to drop there will probably be a few more people needing lower units.

Sandies are blowing up all over the lake. We spent most of our time chasing them because my buddies couldn't stand it.
