Try Capp Smith Park in Watauga at 377 and Starnes Road, It has a good population of bass and sunfish.

Or Lake Weatherford west of Fort Worth.

Glad I read this I have a grandson in Roanoke that wants to go fishing with me. Is the pond good for bank fishing like a park or is this a lake. Grandson would love to catch a few perch and returning them back to the water. I just need to get him into fishing as he is at the age that grandpa can do no wrong and try's to copy me.... This sounds great. Thanks

Capp Smith Park has a small lake which is fed by a creek. The best sunfishing is where the creek goes under Starnes Road. The area is mowed and there is a small parking lot there. Fish where the concrete stops at the bridge. Google Maps will give you a picture to see what I mean.

Take a box of nightcrawlers and use #8 gold Aberdeen hooks under a small bobber.

You should get enough action to keep the grandchildren busy.

Wilshire pond in Euless is loaded with gills. It has a floating dock they can fish from and ducks for entertainment if they bring a loaf of bread.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
