I have a hds 9 gen 2 touch...only have had it for about 4 months. Having to do a hard start often. Any others have this problem?

I don't know anything about your specific unit, only thing I can offer is to check your power source and cabling to your unit. The more advanced these units get the more sensitive they are to voltage variations. This may not be the problem, but it is a good starting point.

Does this happen after you start the outboard? If so, go buy a new battery.

Does this happen after you start the outboard? If so, go buy a new battery. This, and check your ground and all connections for tightness.

check that battery at your local auto parts dealer is where I would start then move up the line connections etc fuses plugins etc
If it ain't broke don't fix it...but go ahead and work on it anyway.....
