jwinit You can be the first and tell us about it. This is a voyage of discovery for most of us who share places to fish.

I fish Brooks Park a lot on Sulfur Creek that runs thru downtown Lampasas. All my posts are over on the UL fly fishing forum. Brooks park is just down stream from Hancock Park, same creek. Because of the golf course they have no fishing signs along the bank. I have never tried going above the golf course.

Well after some thought, going to rephrase my above comment. I used to fish it a lot. Since 20 June, I have only fished it once on 3 July.

Fished today right by the pool caught one perch and one bass but I also was fishing at the hottest part of the day it would might have been better if you could fish from the golf course side but there are signs posted that you can't that's my experience today not a bad place to fish a very nice park maybe I was there at the wrong time

You can fish from the golf course side below the dam right there. I just have never really had a lot of luck fishing up that far. For me it has always been fishing below the second dam at the other end of the park, first thing in the morning until 10:30 or so noon at the latest. Usuall a # 10 foam bug with a San Juan worm or bugger type fly as a dropper about 18" below.
