There's always exceptions to every rule, but for me 11am-3pm fishes tougher no doubt. Bass like low light conditions. Plus it's hot as blazes during that time.

My best times, lately, have been 10am-4pm.....but, I have a strategy that has been productive. I fish ONLY shaded spots that tend to have all day shade. The water temps stay slightly cooler...though not much. The big thing is shade is cover. And it's easy for me to find them that way. Also, nobody thinks to fish really shallow during the summer.

For me, its about a 24 hour window where i just can't get a bite. The rest of the time seems to work OK.

That's because people read on here that the only way to catch fish when it heats up is to go deep. Do fish move from shallow to deeper water? Yep! Do fish stay shallow year round? Yep. The biggest fish I catch are shallow in summer and even on extremely hot days...... Like Steez said, I look for shade. You can certainly catch fish offshore when the weather heats up but don't count out a shallow bite and punching mats.

Funny, we just had this conversation on another website. A lot of people seem to fish a lot less in June and July for fear of getting fewer bites but I get some of my best results in the heat of the day even into August.

I seem to be least productive when my expectations are high.

My least productive time is when I get the boat on the water to when I load the boat on the trailer.
