Was on the phone with the wife while fishing and saw movement. A 18" water snake had joined me. Don 't know when or how but it's in the boat. Tried to catch it but it got into one of the many places in a boat where it can hide.

Does anyone have a suggestion about how to catch it? The wife would go with burning the boat but I want something a little less radical. All help is appreciated!

PM with suggestions- Please

I'd leave it be. If you don't catch anything, you have an excuse.

If it isn't too large use a sticky trap for mice and fasten it down. He'll get stuck on it. Call local animal control and they may assist you

Moth balls, snake repellant (found at most hardware stores), or napalm. Good luck

You can kill a fly with a sledgehammer,
But do you really need to son???

Gasoline and a lighter, five gallons per foot should do the trick. If not repeat until gone

I don't know if 5 gallons is enough.

leave boat alone overnight and they will craw out most likely, make sure you have some way for him to get up the sides of the boat if needed.

Best of luck, Scott

Park it in the open sun... Let it set out for a couple days in the heat. Even if it doesn't leave, an 18" water snake shouldn't stink too long.

Feed it. They make good pets.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
