Got a very clean, VERY well appointed garage queen Viper 201D. All I'm looking for is an owner's manual or a resource to get an owner's manual. Only 1 live well appears to work as advertised, but the seller disclosed this. Just need an owner's manual to get a feel for the live well mechanism and how it's supposed to function. Thanks in advance for any help !

If ya can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.

I don't believe there is a manual for that, and none of the boats that I have owned that did have manuals had anything about the livewells. I would check power to the switch, fuse, power to the pump if there is power out of the switch. Livewell pumps do fail/freeze up, they usually pass thru the lower part of the transom, many times hidden by a subfloor...can be a pain to get to but pretty easy to swap out, only 2 wires going to a switch or timer. Lots of stores with marine supplies carry the pumps, I know Academy has them, if you need a new one, be sure to get one with the same diameter input tube as the original and use plenty of 3M 4200 marine sealer thru the transom. 5200 is permanent and very hard to remove without damaging the gelcoat so I don't use it in case it ever needs replaced again....

If you can hear the pump running but no water in livewell check to see if water is filling up the boat, the tubing between the pump and livewell sometime breaks or comes loose....

Also wiring on older boats many times have corroded connections that need to be cut back and a new terminal put on or corroded switches or timers that need replaced.

You can find Cobra information at

They have a Cobra owners forum with a lot of information. I have a 201SC and have gotten good information there.
