The bluegill were spawning at Joe pool this morning, I caught a number of fish. They were almost all males. The fish were caught on the bottom using small segments of nightcrawlers in about four feet of water. They are running small this year. Most were 6-7 inches with a few 8 inch fish. I gave my fish to a gentleman who requested them for his supper.
The lake is at conservation pool. The water is clearing with a green cast.
Others on the pier caught blue and channel catfish and buffalo.
. Seventy five years of chasing the elusive sunfish.

Gills are sitting on nest down here also. Catching some nice ones in 4 to 6 feet of water. Nice report.

I have seen sunfish spawning on three or four different community ponds in Collin County over the last week as well.
