I'm heading out here for a vacation mid August and was wondering if any of you guys have been there. I've heard there are some walleye,small mouth, and trout there and in the lakes farther north and some very good striper fishing out there. Would anyone have any info on some good fishing out there, I mainly want to target trout,walleye, and smallmouth if possible. Thanks in advance!

August is tough trout fishing from what I hear although I don't trout fish. Might want to check the Arkansas Game and Fish Weekly newsletter at AGFC Weekly Fishing Report This is updated weekly on Wednesdays and the area is West-Central Arkansas. Catherine is the smallest and the last lake of three lakes. Ouachita is the first and largest followed by Hamilton and then Catherine. This time of year I am mainly bass fishing deep structure on Ouachita. Hope you have a great vacation.

Will be curious to hear how you do. The company I work for owns that plant and I am responsible for fuel procurement. Plant is currently generating, but its hit and miss on generating schedules.

We went there a few years ago. Water stays pretty cool and the bass fishing was decent.

Been years, more then I like to admit, but we used to hammer smallmouth on Catherine. Used to be a pretty neat little lake. I know you said you want to target bass but you can get on some pretty good stripers on Ouachita. My daughter caught one that went 27 lbs. I have it hanging on my wall at my office pretty cool.

I will be out there tomorrow fishing the next five days for vacation, I will let yall know what I come up with and mark some waypoint
