Howdy all, Knuckles, Strong and I went out to the Brazos below PK this morning and to our nice surprise, got into a mess of nice striper! Knuckles managed a 7 pounder on his ultra-light spinning configuration, I got a 6 pounder with a zonker and we all caught countless striped bass in the 3 to 5 pound range. Nice day to be a fisherman! Nice video. I like the closeup underwater shot of the fish release. I was out there as well and ran into you for a little while. I came upstream in a white kayak.

Another great video. Looks like some easy fishing. Great fish!!!
How deep was that water y'all were fishing?
What pound tippet are you using on your fly rod?

Thanks guys for the kind words on the video. Very cool YAKnIT! It was a pleasure meeting you. We should all wear TFF name tags when out fishing, LOL! Did you have a good day? J-Moe, we were standing most of the time in knee deep to waist deep water, but fishing the main river channel which gets deeper. The tippet ain't pretty; throwing log chains..... 7.5' tapered 0X with about 1.5' of 1X. Thanks again for kind words gentlemen. Tight lines.

I didn't have a great day of fishing. I pulled one nice striper out of that hole that went maybe 4 lbs. I caught about 10 other fish, mostly small stripers and bass around1 lb. They were randomnly scattered and I caught them on a variety of stuff, including some topwater. Down by the hatchery hole the bite was pretty slow. Definitely not as good as it was several weeks ago. JMoe - I use 8 or 10 ln fluorocarbon when I'm throwing streamers at the bass and stripers. I don't buy tippet per se, I use line leftover from spooling my other tackle. I rarely have a fish break me off and when it happens I suspect it gets cut on the edge of their gill plate.
