What size for a 7.5 ribbontail worm? Missing too many fish and on some occasions they just biting the tail off. Thanks.

I use a variety of sizes, but mostly 3/0. Have no problems with losing fish. Use a good, sharp name brand - Trokar, VMC, Mustad, Gama etc.

I use a 3/0 also for that size worm. If they are biting the tails I would first change color and if that didn't work I switch to a wacky senko or a finesse worm.

If they are biting the tail off then changing the hook most likely won't help hook up ratio. Downsize to a smaller worm

4/0 offset round bend worm hook. Don't like EWG hooks, I feel I lose more fish on them.

x2. Chances are, if they're biting the tail off, they aren't the size of fish you're looking for anyway...but downsizing will help.

I also don't like EWG hooks, so either round offset or straight shank will help getting hooked up. You can get away with a 4/0 straight shank or a 3/0 round offset if you're set on sticking with that specific bait.

3/0 If they're biting the tail off, it's either bream or very small bass. Downsize or try a different style tail.

X2 switch color or baits entirely. I have found in the summer months that if I'm getting the tails bit off a worm then switching to a craw imitation makes the bait more compact and usually helps put a few more in the boat.

I say we fish 5 days a week and work 2.
