I've never taken my boat to Palestine, and I would appreciate some guidance running the lake. So on this map when you run south of the 155 bridge coming out of lake Palestine resort, can I run on the west bank? The map says I can but I only remember running the east bank when I was a co-angler. Thanks for the guidance!

I only run the east bank, and so do all of my buddies.

Quick answer... Yes, you can run either side if you know where to run.
My approach to learning to run that lake was to hire someone familiar with the lake to show me the runs in my boat. I picked Jason Burton, and his trails have gotten me from the North end to the South end with no trouble to-date running them on my own. If he's available for a couple of hours, it is money well spent.

Wow... I should have copyrighted my map...the West Bank is trickier to run than the East and if you are going to the dam or anywhere south of the horse ranch, you don't save much time running it from Highsaw. I stay about 100 yards off the point coming out of highsaw and point my boat about 100yds or so off the point of the Island about a half mile or so south of highsaw. From there I point the boat at the north Cobb point... Once you get to Cobb, hook a left and point the boat at the horse ranch. South of the horse ranch is pretty much clear...if that was hard to follow. Run the east bank.

I only run the east bank above the 155 bridge. Don't feel lucky enough to do otherwise.
John K Fontenot Diapers and Politicians need to be changed often; and for the same reason.

Club tourney this Saturday and I won't be above 155 bridge. I know from last year that there is a nasty stump coming out of Lake Palestine Resort

Where is the horse ranch? The main lake point on the west side where the two green lines converge on the southern end of the above map.
