It looks like to TPWD has posted the 2016 hybrid and striper stockings for most lakes. I noticed that there are none posted for Cedar Creek. Does anyone have the contact info of whoever is in charge of the program?

There is a small one posted for Tawak but that might have been from the sportsman association.

If Cedar Creek missed thats 3 out of the last 6 years! I was really concerned about the timing of the brude fish this year because we were catching spawned out fish below the dam prior to the harvest taking place. Also the water level was extremely high which probably made capturing the fish more difficult.

I noticed that Lake Lewisville got 978,000 Palmetto fry AND 450,000 SUNSHINE fry this year(2016). That is the first time Sunshine hybrids have been released in Lewisville.
How long have they been breeding Sunshine hybrids in Texas?

My home Lake Somerville has not received a stocking since 2014. Some say its the high water and some say it will not be receiving any more hybrid. Does anyone know? I have a good friend that works for Birch & Nails Creek State parks and TPW will not return his calls regarding future hybrid stocking.

I did see this on Face Book the other day and it looks like Twak received 75,000 hybrid fingerlings from Arkansas on June 13. Does Cedar Creek purchase any fish from Arkansas?

June 13
Lake Tawakoni Sportsman's Assn. stocked 75,000 Hybrid/ Striped Bass in Lake Tawakoni this afternoon. LTSA purchased the fingerling hybrids from Keo Fish Farms in Keo Arkansas...TPWL Biologist Kevin Storey brought out his boat equipped with a special tank to distribute the fingerings a round the lake. TPWL have been doing a great job in keeping Tawakoni stocked the past couple years. Thank you Kevin Story and TPWL. This year with Lake Texhoma flooded Tawakoni has been getting lots of fishing presser and a higher than normal harvest rate so LTSA stocked additional hybrids to what TPWL has stocked. A Great Big Thank You to all that have supported LTSA you are the ones that make this possible!

So, maybe Cedar Creek fisherman might consider CATCH N RELEASE on ALL Hybrids including legals unless a Trophy Fish. Let them live to see another day. Take a picture with your cell phone for family / friends to see or to be used as an advertisement for your guide service placed on TFF. Most of the regulars & home based guides on CC encourage releasing ALL Hybrids & feasting on Sand Bass. " Too special to KILL ON DA GRILL ". Just Sayin .

Nice first post, did you sign up just to take a jab? wink... just sayin

I don't know where you're getting your info from on most "home based" guides but Big Crappie, Jason Barber, and myself keep hybrids all the time. The only reason you don't see it more is the fact that most of them don't target or catch them on a regular basis. I'll agree that most of the local regulars tend to practice catch and release. I encourage it and practice it myself most of the time but certainly don't require it.

Good for you though catching and releasing everything. My post was about the stocking, not about the harvesting but to each his own.

I release all I catch, in the grease, on the grill and sometimes in the oven bolt

Sorry to get off topic, but isn't this why tpwd stocks these fish in the first place.

My thought,i've caught my share of hybrids,im there for the thrill, ive released so many more than i kept,im thinking the stress of the catch, many of these hard fighting fish may not live after being cought and released.but what do i know

Yeah....the hybrid stocking was not Parks n' Wildlife based. I'm surprised we didn't get a stocking this year.
