Been trying to get on some crappie with my new to me boat. Been a bank fisher my whole life and finally splurged and bought a 1999 bass tracker pro 165. The guy I bought it from told me about TFF and apparently this boat was owned by a crappie guru on here as well. Anyways got into some pretty decent crappie. Caught about 40 and kept 11 keepers. Also hooked up this 5lb drum on a crappie rig. Boy was that a fight ill remember, bent hook and all. Thanks for all the info on here, it sure has helped.

Dreaming of the thump

Keith

Very nice.

Fillet that drum next time. You'll be surprise how it fries up.

Can you fillet a drum without bones being in the fillets?

filet the drum just like you would a crappie... although i use a manual knife and don't cut through the rib bones. I used to eat the smaller ones when i lived up in Indiana. Damn tasty.

If you'll rub that big drum all over your boat carpet, that'll draw the big crappie in close and make them easier to catch. wink
