It was a blast. The graph was lit up all day. There are finally some good fish showing up at Lavon. Jeff it was not that bad launching that morning but it was kind of tricky trailering the boat. It took me two tries because Collin north is bad in the south wind. Todd i miss east fork too.. Even Avalon is good in the south wind. But they are still working on getting it fixed or don't have the money to fix it.
Carey told me Dusty has landed three other hybrids 19 and 20 inch out of Lavon. He thought they were huge sand bass.Only thing i can come up with is they came from texoma or cooper. Both lake supply Lavon now.
After we chased the top water from Avalon all the way to the tires at Collin i found some more top water on the east side of the lake in the heat of the day. Big birds were landing and scooping up shad. This is how i remember Lavon 4 years ago. Fish everywhere. There were a lot of yellows too but if you moved the slab fast the sand bass would hit it. If you just jigged the yellows would swarm you. So burning the slab triggered sand bass hits. Great trip for a change.
The new power head is broke in and runs like brand new. Gene you are right, Feels good to have a boat again
