Hello everyone. I am new to Lubbock and want to do some bass fishing. While driving around the city I have seen many lakes/ponds around. What are some good places for some bank bass fishing? I am looking to fish anywhere in the Lubbock area not just in the city. Thanks in advance!

Your best lake in that area is Alan Henry and it is still a little ways. It's about 13 miles east of Post on Hwy.84. There is a park on the NW side of town, I believe It's called Buddy Holly park that has a public fishing pond. Good Luck and enjoy the breeze.

Alan Henry is good, but there's no need to go all the way out there. Search google maps for Conquistador lake (North Loop and University), and Dunbar Historical Lake (19th and MLK). Used to slay some nice bass out there in my kayak during my college days. That was 3 years ago, time sure does fly! Use senkos and rattle traps along the reeds, and crankbaits on rip rap.

Good Luck! Wreck Em.

I used to live off of 17th and Quaker... There was a city pond over in that area that had good fish in it.

Thanks guys. I have my father in law coming into town for a few days so I am going to take him fishing. It sure is nice to live in a town that has some bass fishing. Wreck Em.
