From direct colors a qt goes along way. I bought a gallon almost a year ago and I would be surprised if.I have done less than 1000 baits with it, still have about a qt left.

3 dips for me, you can order smaller amounts straight from direct colors online.

When you paint 10-12 of the same color it makes them go alot faster, I do it almost like an assembly line.
Base all baits 1st color all baits Second color all baits Etc.
Then build up 30-40 athe a time so I'm not wasting time getting all the stuff out and putting it all back up.
On my drying rack I have sections for 1,2, and 3 dips so I can keep track of what's ready, sounds funny but when you get 40-50 baits hanging it's hard to keep track of what's ready to build.

...Question, how many coats of AC1315 and do you dip in the can or have a favorite method. I use a mason jar like grandma used to preserve vegetables with. It's got one of those two part lids and holds about a quart of AC1315. The mouth of the jar is large enough to allow a few shakes of the lure to get excess off after a dip. When I'm done I use a little Bloxygen to keep the AC1315 sealer from thickening. After the lure has been dipped hang it with the bill up for a short while...use a paper towel to wick the excess off the tail hanger. If you have a dehydrator just pop it in at 95-100 degrees for a couple of minutes and its finished with a nice clear shine. How many dips really depends on what you want. It goes on thin, which has its good and bad points...sealer over plastic, one dip...sealer over paint, two or three dips, drying between each dip. Experiment around and find what suits you best.
