Was wondering if any of you own or have paddled a vibe sea ghost 130. I've have fished my entire life but just now getting into the kayak scene. I have paddle an ascend fs128t that a friend has and i like the deck size and the stability of the the boat and was just about ready to purchase when i stumbled across the sea ghost. I like the way the boat comes rigged out and the price is right, but would like to hear first hand from someone that owns or has paddled one on the stability, maneuverability and how well it's built and holds up.

There are so many kayaks...dont take someones word for how the kayak will perform. Mabey they have paddled forever and can make the boat o more than you? What if the person has never paddled and cant make the boat perform as you could. Demo is key. Cowtown kayaks sells vibe. Mariner sails is another shop you may want to visit. Both will let you set up a demo date and time to try them.

Everyone I know who has gotten the new Sea Ghost has enjoyed it. The Vibe dealer for Texas lives near DFW, I do not know if there is another dealer closer to Austin though. Have you tried asking the Vibe Kayak owners facebook page if someone has one closer to you so you can give it a good test ride?

My first kayak was an ascend fs128t just like the one you paddled. It was a decent boat. I had to seal all the hatches so they wouldn't leak. No big deal. Paddling that thing is like paddling a barge. I didn't know any better because it was all I ever had. After looking over the new vibe sea ghost I ended up selling my ascend and buying the sea ghost. The ghost puts the ascend to shame in how it handles and paddles plus it's 20 pounds lighter. It is an awesome boat. So glad I made the change. I also got a bending branches 260cm paddle to go with it. I will not be getting another kayak. Beyond impressed with Vibe.

Good advice above, and there are a few dealers in Texas. Russ with Cowtown may have a couple available.

I picked up one this year, and love it! Its incredible, but you need to demo one yourself to ensure its a fit for your style of fishing. They have a group on FB with a lot of knowledgeable folks that can answer questions..

Good luck

Thanks for the info. Couldn't find one to demo so I went ahead and ordered one from Russ with Cowtown, pick it up on Wednesday. Got to get it rigged and ready to roll for a trip to POC this weekend. Guess I'll know if I like it by the Sunday. Figured if I don't like I can always sell it and try something else. From all the reviews I've read sound like it should be a good ride.
