Just wondering what y'alls favorite lures were for this time of the year? Or your go-to baits for a new pond?

Senkos will pretty much always catch them. I also like buzz baits and Frogs

For this time of year, I like a 4 or 6 inch finesse worm. The ponds I fish get absolutely hammered with weekend warrior types though.

The dude abides...

With a new pond I would match a rooster tail spinner to the color of water to start off. If seeing bass shallow I go with powerbait worms and zoom lizards.

I like topwaters. I usually fish mostly in the early morning or evening right now anyway because of the heat and the topwater is great since a lot of ponds in the area have so much vegetation just under the water or forming a mat on top. I throw frogs on mats or a pop-r over submerged vegetation.
