Anyone stay at Amistad Lake Resort recently, how would you rate the accommodations.
I have never stayed there before, just looking for opinions.

They are fair. You can rent ones with a small kitchen for the long stay. I believe they are about $5 more per day. All have the small refrigerator. It has a pool and that is where I would try to get as close to it as possible. Makes for a cooling off time after fishing in the heat all day.

If you had rather stay in a trailer at River Street, that is super with awning for boat and grill outside; then give me a shout; but ASAP. I leave for KY. Lake tomorrow for 10 days.

I would call river street rentals first for one of his trailers.

Been going down hill last few years IMO. Last stay was in May, rooms was fair but had no towels, had to ask for a towel from the guys in the room next door.
Last spring, during a storm it literally flooded our rooms on the backside, we had to go get towels and cleanup ourselves because the manger sent the cleaning ladies home early..... 11 am is when this went down. The restaurant had decent food but wasn't open the times we had been down there.

River Street is the place to stay, never heard a negative thing about that place.

I have not heard anything good about staying at Amistad lake Resort in a long time. You are better off looking elsewhere.

If I am not confused on this one - Bryon and Goldbeck filed Chapter x bankruptcy on this property not all that long ago.
Love those bankruptcy laws for LLCs where you can be the owner, multi millionaire, keep your "personal" money and be a creditor of the same failing business that owes people money. Only in Merica...

If you're lucky and time is running out, but Mr. Donald Harper is the grand poobah of Amistad. He can give you more info on Amistad than you can devour. He has forgotten more than most men know about the lake. Hopefully he sees your request before he leaves for Kentucky. I can't even tell you how to get there, but good luck and wear plenty of sunscreen. thumb

Restaurant and bar has been closed for some time now. Just a matter of time when it closes. River Street best option..

I was staying at Amistad Lake Resort (I use that term loosely) right after Velvick bought it. I am out by my boat and I see this drop-dead gorgeous girl walking across the parking lot. So out of place.

I realize it is Mary Delgado--Velvick's wife--and.... then I notice she is carrying a plunger to go unstop the toilet of some disgusting senko chunker that ate one too many breakfast tacos and then clogged the throne. My eyes met hers and she looked away quickly but not before I could see what was written behind those eyes: "I left Florida, fame and fortune for this..."

Had to check out Delgado after your post. I wasn't aware Velvick owned ALR or that he was married to Delgado. They met on the bachelorette and he proposed to her. She has been arrested twice for DUI and her and Velvick split after she punched him in the mouth ( nice girl ). She was a Tampa Bay Buccaneer cheer leader before bachelorette. Report I read says she is a real estate agent in Tampa Bay now. Google knows everything. If and when I travel to Amistad I won't be staying at ALR. That's for sure.
I have learned a lot on TFF some of it about fishing, lol.

Does Velvick still own the resort?
