I'm new to fishing and to the area. I do not have a boat and I'm only bank fishing. I've been going to Ray Hubbard quite a few times only to find out that I was fishing in the worst (read uncomfortable) places (ripraps, dirty spots, very little space to move around). Just need your expertise in finding a place where I can truly enjoy the serenity of being on the lake, just me, myself and I-hate crowded places. I heard Lake Lewisville has some fishing spots that coincide with my wish list. Thoughts?
Thanks,

Thanks for your input line-liner. I just checked the map and there are several nice spots on LL. Ever been on Cottonwood Park one?

I've fished the Old Lewisville Dam area off Garza in Little Elm. It's extremely fishy, with little schools of hybrid fry in the shallows, and shad jumping about 20ft out. It's a very good area, and I have not seen anyone else out there the last couple times I've gone.

Hi courbple - curious when the last time you fished the old dam was? I'm googling earthing I see where Garza ends and turns into dirt. Can you still get pretty close to the water there?

Yes. There is a public parking area at the end of the road. There is a gate there. You have to walk the rest of the way, but it's not far.

Great. Thanks for the info. I'll give it shot soon. Tried, and got kicked out of a few spots in The Colony, getting soaked for fees in Lewisville....like to do a little relatively peaceful night fishing.

There is a good spot at the end of mill st in Lewisville...the old boat ramps there that are abandoned are good as well as the old hwy 77 road bed that is submerged into lake

There is a fine line between fishing and floating around like an idiot!!

I finally checked out the Old Lewisville Dam area. I walked probably 100-200 yds past parking area down the road to where it opens up. Seems to be ok. Is that the area most people are talking about?
