I have a bunch of jig and spinnerbait skirts coming off due to the rubber ring wearing out. What is the best way to secure them back? Trying to decide between wire and tie them with string for braid.

Some people use the small zip ties. I use wire and it's fast and easy.

I tighten up all my skirts with fishing line. It is invisible and the heat does not deteriorate the line like the bands on the skirts. Never have to worry with them after that.

Super Glue works great. Holds a trailer on too.

You can pick up a spool for about $3 at Hobby Lobby. I fixed a bunch of older (never used) jigs that the rubber collars were starting to become brittle.

I have a much smaller spool that the one shown. Picked it up at local wally world for under a dollar. It's green so it "blends" with most anything if that type of thing bothers you.

ACE Hardware has the small rolls of .020 Copper wire. This is what I use to tie all skirts then remove the rubber band.
