Jerk shad will be a deadstick killer for sure, but so are a number of different baits. Its really more about finding fish. I could see those being extremely effective for wade fishing speckled trout though. I would imagine those would be good wintertime bass lures as well.

Chris,

You are dead on with the speckled trout comment! Here is my favorite video. I have been successful on both fresh and saltwater fish. Spawning bass have a hard time not hitting them when it keeps dancing in their face.
