Re-tie often, use a palomar and make sure the weights you're buying aren't fraying your line.

Uni knot with braid 100% of the time and I have never had a knot break on braid.

Palomar will slip on braid unless you do something extra on the tag end. Not necessary with the uni knot.

65 pound like is plenty strong enough for pretty much any bass fishing situation. I use 50# while flipping jigs in heavy cover and have never had it break on me. One time a cracked rod guide on my Dobyns cut the braid about 5 seconds after I set the hook on a monster and it cut the line, but that's the only time I've ever had power pro break on me and it obviously wasn't the line's fault.

Don't use glass beads with tungsten weights. Could be a culprit. Hard tungsten chips/breaks those glass beads. Then they will cut your line. I use s Palomar knot with braid, and that double line improved cinch knot for everything else.

I've never had a Palomar knot failure with braid, ever. Not sure if other braids slip, but I throw Power Pro Super Slick 8 or Suffix 832 and a correctly tied palomar and have never had an issue.

I always tie an overhand knot in the end of the line to keep the slippage to stop at the knot. Won't come untied at that point. But breakage is a different matter. Give it a try with the overhand knot and tie the same knot... that one little knot on the end won't stick out anymore than the knot you tie... Make sure the tag end is very short to the knot. Pull it down to the know if possible. Good Luck

If you still want the snell, try putting a coating of super glue over the knot. Make sure you are tucking and cinching the tag end enough. That should eliminate your slipping. The breaking may be the friction around the eye, try hooks with resin around the eye, and make sure you run the line through the eye twice before beginning to wrap. Consider the advice to use a palomar or other knot.

Just Curious, what length, power and action of rod are you using? A 7'6 broom stick with a reel seat and 65# braid can cause some issues. There's a lot of force snapping into a knot with a setup like that, because there is no give anywhere.

I suggest something with a bit of tip but still plenty of backbone, and with any rod you want a parabolic action, or close to it, when it is at a static load.

I started buying the New Jack flipping hooks that Ish endorses, the hook keeper is actually another line tie option. I go through the point side of the hook and tie an eye crosser knot to the secondary line tie, this gives you a solid knot with the same "scorpion sting" hook kick that you get from a snell knot.

In my opinion power pro along with most other kinds of braid are garbage. I use sufix exclusively and don't have this problem, while simultaneously watching my partner change from power pro to other cheap lines and breaking all of them. Thank goodness I finally got him to buy some sufix.
