Interested myself. This is the guy that founded All Star rods. The original All Star WR1 & WR2 are 2 of my most favorite rods. If they improve on those, that would be awesome.

I still have 5-6 all star WR1's that I use accasionally so I had to try the McCain rods. I only have have 1 but I like it. Haven't had it that long but I certainly will get a couple more.

I have 2 and they are sensitive and relatively light. I have had a couple of problems with the rod tip inserts. One of them popped out and another chipped, and I snapped the line on 3 hooksets before I realized what was happening. I emailed McCain to inquire about the tube and ring size of the tip to replace them with my own tips, and never heard anything back.

My experience - good rods, the tips were probably my fault for reeling weights up on them before running, but not the best customer service.

I have two mccains and have used one for nearly 2 yrs and like it.the other about 6 months its Tommy Martin edition and I belive its the better of the two.Ive heard of some of their rods breakin but there is not a brand made that never fails.I think has a lot to do with care, you bang two rods together or slap a limb it may not break right then but it may on the next hook set.same with trying to swing to big a fish

Good rod. I use one for froggin and it has a good feel to it. Had a friend that bought 7 as part of our sponsorship at school. 5 out of the 7 have broke in the middle. I guess if you get a good one it'll last but like tracker_kyle said, "not the best customer service.

I have the carolina special, and really like the rod. No issues so far. Was also a big fan of the original all star rods!

I have 5 of them, good rods. Let me know if you want any and will get Cody to fix you up. Quite a few of the guys on the forum know him.

Thanks, Billy

I won one in a raffle at the Aggie Anglers charity tournament on Conroe. I like it just fine. Fairly light weight and sensitive. No issues with it yet.

Yea i dont know what the deal with his email is, but i have gotten fast responses from his FB page and i have called too. But he told me once his email was kinda screwy.

Other than that Morgan helped me with my order over the phone and was nice to talk to.
