I finally found some time and a few bucks to head down to Port A for some snapper fishing. I went out on the La Pesca on Saturday with Dolphin Docks. Limited on Red Snapper, a dozen Vermillion (one was a nice 4.2 lbs), and a couple of dog snapper and rainbow runners. It was windy, lost a hat into the gulf but it was fun. Nothing especially exciting on that trip. The following day I went out on the Scatcat for 8 hours. Red snapper limit, largest was 8.2 lbs, also a small king. One lady on the boat caught a 40lb class King, very nice. The boat lost 1 engine on the trip back in so we were on the water much later than planned.
My thanks to Dolphin Docks for holding the boat (and my apologies to the other fisherman) as I was a little late... I35 in Temple was shut down and it took 3 hours to go 10 miles. I didn't expect them to wait, but they did.
