Got the pontoon ready. made a few changes. Opened the front up to make fishing easier. Added power anchors front and rear. changed the seating a bit. Added remote control trolling motor and new graphs.

I just installed a Motorguide Xi5 on my pontoon last week. I have been amazed at how it will hold the boat ON THE SPOT while fishing brush piles in any wind I should be out in. I'm still learning how to use the control (understatement) and I have a few issues in my setup to fix but overall it is great. No interference on my graph. (be sure to get a 60 amp circuit breaker) Also be sure your plug fits in tight. If you get even a slight power interruption the unit shuts down and has to reset the GPS.

It's pretty neat to put the boat upwind of the pile and fish out the back end with the wind at your back. The feature that allows you to push one button and move the boat 5' forward or back or to either side is cool.

Trollers should love this motor. (Even Guy kind of liked it)

Beautiful! I'm eager to know how you like fishing from this rig. It's gotta be cool.

Wow. That is a nice set up Ernest. But it's too nice to be hauling trees or brush with.

Fishing in comfort. You gotta love that!

You have the same seating arrangement as my voyager. I would love to have a trolling motor. But my boys are 9 and 11 and use that front gate for a runway when swimming. even without the motor attached and the mount in place I could see that being a major toe stumper. When they get a little bigger I'll be rigging mine up with a TM too. I really like your rig!

Well today was unusual to say the least. Rick invited me to go to Texoma and I was tempted until that storm hit last afternoon and it scared me off. I figured the morning would be another wind beating. Got up at 6:30 and it was dead calm and clear. Decided to go to the marina anyway. Called Guy and he decided he would rather do yard work. (somethings wrong with that idea), called Rick but he was already at Texoma. Went out by myself. (I hate to do that.) Saw a fellow fishing from shore near where I wanted to fish so I invited him to join me. Real nice guy.

We fished a rock pile for a couple of hours and did quite well. 9 largemouths, 10 Crappie and 11 sandbass.

The Xi5 performed very well. I set it to anchor and never touched it again for two hours. Never moved more than 5'.

After I left him back on the bank I fished a couple of deep underwater trees and found some big crappie right on the bottom in 27' water. That motor is perfect for that type fishing. Just get right on top the tree and hit the anchor button and go fish anywhere an the boat and the boat never moved.

Nice day on the lake. Quit at noon.

I do have to admit...he has a sweet set up now (OMG did I just admit to liking a 'toon) bolt It's pretty comfortable to fish out of, as long as you don't go to sleep and fall outta the chair. It takes rough water really good. It's dry regardless of the wave action. And there's tons of room. I know...I just lost my membership in CAT for speaking blasphemy. hammer And, Ernest hasn't had time YET, to junk it all up. All in all; pretty sweet (NO, I'm not buying one).
