Love the fight of a smallmouth! My PB is a 3.65 caught on Granbury many many years ago during a big bass tournament, held the lake record for a couple years and got beat by one a little over 4 caught on live bait.

I love the small mouths. My personal best is over 6# caught out of Johnson Creek in Mtn. Home Tx. It was the end of February with temperatures in the 40's. She was 21" long and 19.5" gerth. My uncle was wanting to take and get it weighed at the fish hatchery up the road but my did didn't. Come to find out the state record was just a tad over 6# at that time in 1986. I have caught bigger fish but that one still holds the best memories.

We went out again yesterday for three hours. Caught 24 small mouth, every single one was over 3.5 pounds. No fives but man they are fun.
