I just want to go throw some artificial baits around Lake Fork. I've never been out there yet. I'd love to hear about the best possible yak launch sites. I would also like any ideas about where I could fish there to catch some nice fish and preferably stay away from heavy boat traffic areas. If they're bass I'll practice catch and release unless they are white bass or if I manage to catch any crappie. If any yakkers want to meet up at Lake Fork I'm game for it. I do want to let you know I have every intention of being there and ready to launch at daybreak so hopefully you are like me and want to get an early start.

If its your first time and no one has any better suggestions; you could try launching at (or really next to) one of the public ramps.

Pretty sure your going to be dealing with heavy boat traffic about anywhere. I have only been out on Fork once and its busy to say the least.

Stay out of the boating lanes for sure and as always, be visible and wear your PFD.

Good luck amigo! Let us know how it goes.

Fork will be very busy, stay in the timber and you'll be fine.

I have launched at Fisherman's Cove and fished Williams / Wilson branch area. Its usually full of lily pads. And I have launch at Shorty's and fished Little Mustang. I like both and they are not very far apart and not beyond reach to launch at one and paddle to the other and fish both coves. Just watch for timber sticking up that is just under the surface. Fork is full of it and it can get stuck in your scupper hole. Always good to have someone with you to help if it happens. Those coves get some traffic but if get into some places the boats can't, you don't have to worry. Endless places to fish at Fork in the kayak that look awesome. Good luck hope you do good!
