Do you guys add a floro leader to your braid? I'm thinking it's easier to swap baits with mono and it can't hurt. Will the FG knot cast thru the guides?
Cast I have a short attention spa

For the water I fish (stained to muddy 1' visibility) I tie directly to yellow braid. I caught 40+ keepers and several 2+ pound fish.It did'nt bother them apparently. Another boat less than 10' away was using clear mono and minnows and I was catching at least 5 to his one with blue/white jig and chart nibbles. Luck, location, bait, line, idk ?? I think certain times of the year they are more line shy though.

Crappie are not line shy unless the water is super clear (not a problem around here). You can use a mono or flouro leader, or you can get a clip to put on the braid so you can clip jigs on and off as needed. I believe they sell them at Bass Pro.

NO leader needed, unless maybe the lake you're fishing has crystal clear water. A good sharp knife works perfect for cutting braid. I have yet to find anything that works better.

I use whatever I have available, usually 15lb test about 5ft long. Mono or fluro doesn't matter, I use a surgeons knot to tie to my braid.
