Academy sells some decent cheap 30/36 inch socks. A couple would probably do ya in most cases. Basspro sells a 54 inch for like $45 for windier days

Thx Tom. I might look at Bass Pro because every time I decide to go it gets really windy!

2/ 36" 1front and 1rear with 6' leader and bouy
Holds my 19' Cajun CC @ .5 in good wind . You can always leave big motor down and drop trolling motor for more drag

GATO LOCO, thx. Which brand are you using? Read a few articles about making sure they open up quickly.

I had a cheap one that didnt work for my 17 ft flatbottom. I have since bought a bigger boat 17 ft Crestliner fishhawk 1700 and use one of the cabelas brand drift socks. I love it and it comes with a nice case that makes storage easy. It cost about $80 which was alot for me but it certainly works and I dont need 2 drift socks.

Drift fishing is new to me but thinking 2 socks are the way to go if I have other people. If so, what size for a 19 1/2' bass boat. Thx to all.

I have a 19 ft bass boat and I use a single 42" in up to 15-20mph winds...holds me around .5-.7 mph no problemo..use the steering wheel to straighten the boat

Thx to all...like the Academy price better. No problem GAATO LOCO. Fact, I know about losing anchors too. The wind shifted on me one day and the slack rope slipped out of the cleat. I took an old orange buoy marker and tied it on the end of the new one.
