I'm curious has anyone put the front blade of a spinnerbait on a swivel so it can rotate, if so any luck with it, does it hurt the action of the lure? I figured it would give an extra something to the lure but wanted to ask before I operate on one of my cheapo spinners

I have on a few of my spinnerbaits, mainly Colorado blades, they work best 3\4 ounce or bigger flipping docks, bouncing rocks and bull rush type vegetation. Don't be afraid to go big

There are several made that have two combinations both blades with swivels. - One that I have seen is two Colo. blades the same size both attached with swivels off the end of the arm. Little noise involved here and some erratic action; but it works. - The other like what you are talking about with the smaller blade on a swivel. - Very small split ring to slip over the arm with one bead in front. Add three extra beads or a 1/2 piece of tubing for more spacing between the blades. The best bait for this a long arm spinner bait. The arm is 1/2 inch longer than others. All spinners are not created equal. Some barely have a arm long enough to get two blades on it. http://stores.fishtechniques.com/3-8-oz-...rtreeuse-skirt/

Another trick you might try. Mister Twister years ago made a spinnerbait that had a 3 way swivel with 2 Colorado Blades on the 2 ends that weren't attached to the end of the arm. The generally came with 2 sets of blades already on the swivel so it was easy to change out. I have 1 or 2 some where that are still NIP. If I run across them, I will try to post a picture. I caught fish on them. They looked pretty good coming through the water. It was common also for them to have different color blades. One set might have been a chart./orange combination while the other set that came with it might have been 2 different colors with glitter. But I have no doubt that a silver/gold combination would work as well.
PS-just went back and looked at one of Mr. Harper's posts and that might be what he is talking about.
