Has anyone ever had the transducer mount break while on plane and have the transducer ripped off the wire? If so would it be under warranty, since my unit is only 5 months old?

Had the transducer mount break before but the transducer stayed attached to the wire. Just had to pickup a new mount at basspro for like $10. Did you hit a stump or a floater? That's what happened to mine. Not sure if the warranty would cover it. I would think some kind of impact would have to occur to cause that.

I had the same thing happen to me during the Skeeter owners tournament.
The mount came with a new 899 hd, I thought the mount was pretty weak when I installed it,
all plastic, the new mount I just bought has a metal mount base seems to lock in better.
I did not even check to see if they would warranty it.

you talking a trolling motor transducer? I sheared one clean off one day hitting a stump.

Now I use transducer shield and saver products, and don't have those problems...trust me, I'm not "pro staff" just telling you how it is.
