Met up w/ a cool guy that is wanting to share secrets on ponds and we decided to go pond hopping in the am. I was wanting to know what would be you 6 lures or less you would have rigged on your poles. Heres mine...

1. Whopper Plopper
2. Frog
3. Spinnerbait
4. Crankbait/Lipless
5. Senko (weightless)
6. Dropshot

I would think that would cover any structure....grass.. etc. and would cover all water columns.

Any Advise would definitely be appreciated.

I'd think "pond hoppin" would be a chore while carrying 6 rods. I used to pond fish a LOT. never needed anything more than a senko

Hmmmm. Never had it happen where I didn't catch me a few on a senko. I guess if they don't....just go home or hop to a different pond with fish in it! Lol.

I'd say a small crankbait or a spinnerbait would get you enough bites in any pond.

I like to fish topwaters in ponds.
Lately been fishing the topwater sniper and that's all I bring with me. If they don't bite that I leave. Been doing pretty good with it though.
Other than that I fish a devils horse style bait I make called the shade.
If there's lots of vegetation I'll fish a frog.
Ocasionally I'll throw a wacky rigged trick worm.
I carry one rod and only a couple topwaters and every now and then, mostly in the spring, I'll bring one bag of trick worms with a couple hooks thrown in the bag.

If they don't eat a senko, they won't eat anything.. (not true, but you get the point)

I say we fish 5 days a week and work 2.

Two rods, I try to stay light.

MH rod w/ braid: Buzzbait/Frog
Med rod w/ 12# flouro: weightless fluke/senko

I usually carry a backpack with a 3600 full of other staples but rarely need them.
