Don't know why but mine do it also only on both sizes. I always figured the lead wasn't sticking to the hooks. Since I always powder coat mine I make sure to dip the head to where the paint is at least 1/8th up on the hook/keeper. When the paint is cured the head is then tight on the hook.

Sounds like the lead needs to be hotter, I always try for about 800 degrees with new lead. and never use wheel weight on jig heads as they add stuff to it to make it stay on the wheels. Its good low cost for most weights but not this. The 1/16 is about as small as a person can go and have strong hooks. Any thing smaller should have lead keepers.

Only heads I ever got that were loose came from the guy everyone fell in love with here on eBay! I bought 2400 heads from that guy and every stinking one of the had loose heads. I had to get some pliers without teeth to squeeze them to be tight. Really made me not a happy guy! It got so he wouldn't reply to my emails and I was actually going to give him a 2nd chance, but then he did all that not replying so I moved on and never looked back! Guy I have used even before that until now has never sent me loose heads!
I am not one that can help fix your issue as I just do not know enough about pouring to fill a thimble!

Get your lead 750 to 800 degree. Pour your mold with no hooks to get the mold hot. Two or three times should get the mold hot.

Do y'all use an electric lead pot like the RCBS unit? Can it pour your molds? It or the cheaper Lee pot would be a good tool for you guys. It has a thermostat and a place to heat your mold. I'm an RCBS man.

I'm an RCBS man. I am on team green as well. I had a Lee pot and spent more time working on the pot trying to get it to pour then I did actually pouring. I bought the RCBS Pro Melt and haven't had to work on it a single time and have poured at least 50-60 lbs of lead through it.

I was wondering if y'all crossed over to bullet making supplies. That's a good unit.
