Hey ya'll, I've fished some before with my in-laws but am just now really getting into the sport. My youngest daughter (12) really enjoys fishing so it's something we can do together. We have a local city park with a small lake where we can fish. I'm still not great at fish identification. So what is this? At first I thought it was a bass but it has a spot on it like a bluegill. It also doesn't seem to have any stripes or a divided dorsal fin.

Yep, Warmouth. A big one too. Get you some live worms and let your daughter catch a basket full next time you go thumb
