Anyone using the Veritas 2.0 rods by Abu Garcia? They list for 99.99 but can be found for around 80 bucks online. I've read a lot of good reviews and Ike claims this is the rod he uses. Just like to hear some opinions on here. Thanks

I use one for my cranking rod and top water. I love them for the money.

I have one I use for froggin with braid. It will pull out hogs in the thickest of pads. Super strong rod but not the lightest.

A little stiff for me for worm fishing and not very sensitive

I use many of them for many different applications... For the price point they are hard to beat. Durable rod in my opinion... I promise the bass don't care what kind of rod your using.

Some great rods for the money... I use them for most moving bait presentations, save money and go with the vendetta line for bottom contact baits though, they are lighter and much more sensitive, at least in my hand. Both are great value and durable as hell. Great customer service to boot. Abu for life!...as they say

The veritas run very stiff for their rated action though. Be mindfull when buying shorter or heavier action veritas rods.

Thanks for the replies. I've found some for less than 65 bucks so I don't think I can go wrong with ordering a few. I've used Abu Garcia reels for the last 40 plus years, but haven't used many of their rods except for a couple of Vendettas. Think I'll give the Veritas a try.

That's all Ike had in his rod locker when I marshaled for him at Toledo Bend. He broke one in half on a hook set with a fish that went less than 2 lbs.. All he said was "that's why I carry lots of extra rods"

I agree with others who said they are durable. I break rods like crazy and I've managed to keep my one Veritas for 5 years. It's a workhorse. I mainly flip with it because the action is a little stiffer than the medium heavy it's listed as.

I have 2 that i use for cranks and swimbaits and i like them a lot. Casts well and has enough spine to set the hook. I'll be getting more when i need another rod.

Why was he not using his signature line of rods? Was this before they were out?

I have a Veritas 2.0 Winch Crank Cast Rod 7' Med and I love it. I only use it for cranks as it's intended. It looks flimsy but it's not. It handled a 6 lber that darted under the boat very well

My bad, he Was using the signature series. I thought these were the Veritas, but they aren't.

I'm sure his temper tantrums leave lots of weakened/damaged rods in lockers to snap on hooksets on dinks roflmao
