I have used a few different types. seaguar red label 12 lb and sunline reaction 12lb. What would you guys recommend to get the most depth out of your deep cranks? 18+ feet deep.

20lb braid. It has a smaller diameter, so less water resistance.

Doesn't this float? So wouldn't it make it not go as deep?

The diameter is a bigger factor. 2cents

Sunline Reaction FC

For only a few dollars more than the Sniper FC you can try the Reaction FC. I hardly use any other line for deep cranking other than this stuff. And the only time I do use something different is if I'm out and don't have another choice. Anyways, this line is great for deep diving crankbaits. I love the brute strength of this line, and I've yet to have a big fish break me off. It's plenty strong, and it has superior knot strength as well. Well worth the money!

Also the lower the gear ratio on your reel the deeper the bait will run for the same line weight. For 10xd/8xd, Sixth Sense Crush 500 I use a Curado B38. 3.8:1 The lower gear ration also helps with reeling fatigue.

The bait will over power the buoyancy of the braid. I use 10-12lb flouro except on a 10XD I will use 14lb. I won't use the braid because I had tour guys tell me that braid was costing me bites and so I have that in my head now. I have no data to back it up. I am sure there are guys who say it doesn't matter, and they may be right, so I say try them both and see what you have better luck with.

I use Seaguar AbrazX 10 or 12 will get you the most out of your crankbait and if your fishing open water go to 8lb.

.....hmmmmm...... Do you know something that I don't? Please explain how a smaller diameter would NOT be better? Or are you saying YOU are confused?

Are you thinking that because braid floats that it would keep the lure from diving? If so.... loco

Steez is correct. The smaller diameter line will certainly get your crank bait deeper.
