I've been having a problem with my citica when I reel it I hear a crunching clicking kind of sound. The sound gets louder the faster the reel it. Does anyone know what's wrong with and tips on fixing if?

Could be the gears...you would have to open it up and inspect the gear mesh and the gears to ensure you have no chipped teeth

Call Shimano customer service and talk to them. You can usually send the reels back to there California head quarters for cleaning. to me it sounds like debris in a bearing/worm gear, or worm gear is warn out. Give them a call they can tell you a lot better than I can.

Something else to check.

Check your yoke springs.
I have seen them come off and get into the gears making a clicking noise.

Thank you,

Makes sense. I have also seen worn pinion yokes (not enough grease) cause a curado to make some really strange grinding noises when you reeled and stopped suddenly the pinion gear would keep spinning on the yoke after you stopped making an odd noise. I had to look really hard to figure that one out. Was worn just enough to make a difference.
