Anchored with cinder blocks.

Easiest way is to stack 3 cinder blocks tied together offset from each other. Stick 4 or 5 12' stalks into each hole butt end first. It will make a huge X. Since the cane (or bamboo) is filled with air pockets, the ends will float upward.

Looks like this...

Not the bamboo. Stick it far enough in that the limbs hold them in place. The tree tops we tie to the blocks. Some folks put a 2 liter bottle on the top to make it stand upright.

They both work, it's just matters where you put it. Such as a drop off on a long point, a depression on a flat, side of a creek channel where deep water close by. Go for it and share where you drop them! smile

Any structure like Ranger-188 said, but we put these in a large area of the lake where it's pretty flat and void of any structure. That way any crappie that are in that area are attracted to the only brush there.

I have become a major fan of bamboo in the last 2 years. It is easy to put out and holds fish very well. Not to mention I hardly ever loose a jig in it. The only downside is that it needs to be refreshed once a year.
