Exactly what I have. Same frame shape, different color frames and lenses. I went back and forth about poly or glass lens, but ended up with glass after I tried on several pair. BPS in Broken arrow let me take several pair outside on a sunny day and see how I liked them and even walked over to the pond to see the water. I did feel bad for buying elsewhere. They didn't have the exact combo i was looking for and would take a few weeks to order.

Green mirror, amber lenses are most versatile. I never take em off. Blue mirror/gray lens only good for offshore saltwater imo. Costas are the best. Found out about them covering a redfish tournament years ago. Most of the guys fishing it were guides and they all wore Costas. Sold!

Another great option are SolarBat glasses. Lighter in weight than Costas, and more affordable. All made in USA. Their Mossback green lens is hard to beat if you're a bass fisherman. Go check out SolarBat Sunglasses , they are also having a huge July clearance sale on select glasses. Really great deals.

Personal preferences will determine what is more versatile to you. For instance, I have blue to gray eyes that are sensitive to light, so even though green mirror with the amber base works well for many sight fishing, I prefer a darker base to my lens. My Costas were not used as much. Once I get one with less light penetration, I'll probably use them more.

Well, that was until I lost my cheaper pair of blue mirror SK optics that really blocked the sun for me...

The new Rafael frame just won best of show at ICAST 2016. Vented frame, great blocking of light from the sides.

I agree. I have purchased 6 pairs of Costas on Ebay and saved a lot of money. I like the green mirror, amber, copper, and also bought a pair with the sunrise lenses, which are great in low light conditions. I was an Oakley man, but since trying Costas a few years ago, that's all I wear now.

OK THEN!!! Grin.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

General rule of thumb is to match the water color with the lens color. Freshwater, green water- green mirror. Offshore blue water - blue mirror. Small streams without much color - Silver.

Costa's 580G- Ebay sells them about $100 off what the box stores sell them for.

The 580 glass lens are heavier but if you want to see your best they are the best in my opinion. As far as the color of lens, everyone has their favorite. I liked the looks of the blue mirror but went with green mirro/copper when actually comparing on the water and listening to what others had said about what would work best in the freshwater. No two faces are alike and actually trying on the different sizes of the frames you like best is the only way to go. Some of the frames wouldn't work for me no matter what size I tried. Good luck finding a pair you like best. cheers

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
